This is the most friendly club you will find in the area with a support team that will help you with a big smile, great advice and a wealth of experience on how  to help you to progress with your dancing.

This venue is probably one of the newest and best in the area as it went through a total rebuild and was re-opened in November 2010. It has a dance floor that works for all types of dance styles and is a medium fast floor.

Two room expressive and regular Modern Jive freestyle coming to Cambridge on 27th September.
Following the success of our first freestyle collaboration with Jive4All we are excited to announce that we will be running Illumination plus Jive4All for a second time!
Illumination plus Jive4All is a two-room freestyle, featuring a main expressive style room run by DanceXcess plus an added up-tempo room run by the friendly and inclusive Jive4All team, ideal for those who love to dance to both music styles and perfect for those new to expressive dancing who want to give it a try in a friendly and welcoming environment.
On 10th August 2019, we joined forces with local independent dance club to DanceXcess called Jive4All, adding an up-tempo room to our regular expressive freestyle, ‘Illumination’ at Storey’s Field Centre, Cambridge. The event was very popular, with high volumes of dancers in both rooms throughout the evening. We received some very positive feedback from dancers who attended the event:
“Was a great night, well worth the drive, looking forward to next time”
“Great first time for me but well worth the 140-mile round trip, can’t wait to do it again”
“2 rooms worked great and hope it can be done again “
We had dancers from London, Farnborough, the Midlands, Kent, Norwich and Ipswich, plus all our local dancers.
Our second event will be held on Friday 27th September at the stunning Storey’s Field Centre from 8pm until late.

BIO: Illumination Dance
brings a different concept in dance for the Cambridge area with our Illumination (Light) Expressive Freestyle. Our aim is to give our dancers a range of music, of a variety of genres and tempos, which teases out that more expressive dancer that is deep inside all of us.
• You could be someone, at any stage of your dancing, that is no longer satisfied dancing with the mainstream music you hear regularly in modern jive freestyles.
• You might want to fuse your modern jive with other styles, such as WCS, Tango and Blues, letting you vary your mood throughout the evening.
• You may be looking for music that is a little more chilled, or perhaps more lyrical or expressive, giving you the backdrop to dance more ‘musically’ to what you hear.
• You could even just be hoping to finish a dance and be able to say to your partner “wow I didn’t know I could dance like that”.
If any of these descriptions sound close to what you’ve thought to yourself, or said to others, then Illumination Dance is the place for you and your friends to come and dance. At our events you’ll find dancers of all levels of experience and ability, who share a common wish to express themselves in dancing to music that is always interesting and occasionally challenging.
